OpenAI-Compatible API Key *

Works with any OpenAI-compatible provider. For OpenRouter, use an API key from OpenRouter.

Model *

Use a model name supported by your provider (OpenRouter uses names like openai/gpt-4o-mini).

OpenRouter tip: append :online to the model name (e.g. google/gemini-2.5-flash:online) to let the model search the web before answering. This gives noticeably better results for "latest" / "new" queries, which otherwise return titles from the model's training cutoff. OpenRouter charges a small fee per search.

Base URL (Optional)

Using OpenRouter? This must be https://openrouter.ai/api/v1 — leaving it blank sends your key to OpenAI and fails with "Incorrect API key provided". It is filled in for you when your key starts with sk-or-v1-.

Extra Headers (Optional)

Optional JSON headers to send with requests (some providers like OpenRouter recommend HTTP-Referer and X-Title). Don’t include Authorization.

Enable AI Response Caching

Include Adult (18+) Content

If checked, search results may include adult-rated content from TMDB.

Enable 'Similar' Recommendations

Shows a "Similar movies and shows" link on content detail pages.

I use Stremio Web (web.stremio.com)

Only tick this if you watch in a browser at web.stremio.com. Leave it off for the desktop, Android or TV apps — they follow stremio:// links, and sending them a web link opens a browser tab where your addons are not installed.

Show AI Recommendations on Homepage

If disabled, the AI recommendation catalogs will not appear on your Stremio homepage.

Custom Homepage Catalogs (Optional)

Enter a comma-separated list of catalogs in the format Title:Query. Each entry will create a new catalog on your homepage. e.g. `Mystery:recommend mystery thrillers,Sports:recommend sports movies` gives three catalogs titled "Mystery - Movie", "Mystery - Series", and "Sports - Movie". To show only movies for a query, add the word "movies" to it (e.g., `Thriller:thriller movies`). This prevents a series catalog from appearing for that query. To use Trakt recommendations add 'Recommend' keyword in the query (e.g., `Top Rated:recommend top rated movies`). For new content, use 'New' keyword (e.g., `New Releases:new action movies`).

Enable High-Quality Posters (RPDB) with ratings

Requires an RPDB API Key for personalized posters. If enabled without a key, may use cached/default posters.

Get a free API key from Fanart.tv. Used for displaying high-quality landscape thumbnails in the "Similar" recommendations feature, providing a better viewing experience.

Select the language to display movie and series titles (Description will still be in English)

Gemini Model Name

Enter the Gemini model id. See available models at Gemini Models Documentation

Enable Google Search Grounding

Lets Gemini ground its responses with live Google Search results for more accurate recommendations. Note: Free-tier accounts are limited to 20 grounded requests/day. Disable if you hit quota errors.

Number of AI Recommendations (Max: 30)

Higher values may increase response time

AI Temperature

Controls randomness. Lower values are more deterministic and tend to follow the required output format more reliably.

Max Output Tokens

Reasoning models (DeepSeek V4, o-series, ...) spend part of this budget thinking before they write anything. If it runs out first they return an empty answer and you get no results — raise this if that happens.
